“Perfect”
I’ve seen the sun set behind the hills
Where the color blasts the earth with all it’s thrills of a miracle disguised.
I’ve seen the way the water drips off from
The greenest leaves in the dawn of the night’s sleeping eyes.
But the setting sun and moon’s paler glow
Can’t touch the rays that burn my soul inside.
There’s nothing more gorgeous than my girl
And all falls down dim to her perfect pale-blue eyes.
She has the most gorgeous eyes that I have ever seen.
Skies imitate her.
Crystals, diamonds, nature’s scenes like shadows fall
When her eyes meet mine.
When her blue eyes shine.
I’ve seen the stars and all the night-time lights.
Like celestial balls and hazes in the night that cover us in our dreams.
I’m sure that God had some kind of plan
When He formed the sun’s fiery span . . . He mirrored her sleep.
I’ve seen the smiles slip from other eyes.
I’ve seen the gleams that burn like autumn skies.
But there aren’t any blues or greens or browns
That don’t fall down dim to her perfect pale-blue eyes.
She has the most gorgeous eyes that I have ever seen.
Skies mirror her.
Crystals, diamonds, nature’s scenes like shadows fall
When her eyes meet mine.
When her blue eyes shine.
This poem is another song of The WaLL JuMPeRs from their album “So Close, but Yet.”
This may look like a photoshoot for an acid-metal band. . . but The WaLL JuMPeRs are actually an alternative rock group with a sentimental, folky sound. Check out the link for The WaLL JuMPeRs and listen to some of our music.
